課程概述 |
棲居（寓居、居住）是生命體的基本活動，並藉此塑造了周遭環境、自我意象和認同，建構了與他人／物件的關係、生存之道、生活風格與相關價值。居住行為及其各種物質展現和文化型態（住屋、居所、宅邸、透天厝、別墅、公寓、集合住宅、門禁社區），構成了人類社會動態的基石，也是城鄉發展的重要動力與基底。
棲居和住宅的議題以各種不同焦點和概念化方式，存在於許多學科，例如不動產開發與經營、地政、都市計畫、建築設計、地理學，以及社會學、人類學、經濟學、史學，甚至哲學等領域。這門課程則聚焦於幾個基本議題，從事社會與文化面的探討，並區分為兩大部分。首先是一般概念的引介與案例研討，包括家園（home）概念的形成、再現及實踐；棲居的政治（庇護、壓迫與抵抗）；居家生活規範；家務性（domesticity）的性別與階級形構；住屋與室內設計；棲居的物質性、家庭物件與生態維護；住宅需求與住宅體制等。
其次，我們以日本、香港、新加坡、台灣和中國為例，探討棲居與住宅的社會變遷。具體議題包括日本現代化進程中家庭生活與住屋的改變；台灣公共住宅與公寓設計呈現的現代性；香港與新加坡的地產霸權；中國從資本主義房地產戰爭、社會主義工人新村，以迄市場化後的業主維權的居住史。
簡言之，本課程關注居住現象的社會分析與文化批判，比較不會探討房地產市場、土地開發及住宅政策等議題。

課程要求 |
課程要求：
盡力閱讀課程材料，勇於發問，勤於出席。修習者的投入與表現，對本課程能否順利運作非常重要。本課程採取講演和討論課（seminar）並行方式，每次上課由教師講授和提示重點，並由參與者分配導讀該週的閱讀材料，每篇文章報告時間，必須控制於十五分鐘內，盡量留時間發問和討論，探討能跟理論概念對話的經驗議題。報告者必須分發書面提要（必須包含三百字以內之摘述，主要論點和論證邏輯之說明【配合論證圖示】，以及評論和問題）。
沒有分配到當週閱讀材料導讀的同學，則需繳交針對某一篇或全部閱讀材料的讀書心得和提問，至少一頁。旁聽的同學，不需分配閱讀材料的導讀，也不必繳交作業，但是必須每堂課繳交讀書心得和提問。
本課程的設計份量，需要修課者在課堂外花費四倍以上的時間，也就是3 X 4＝12個小時，包括閱讀教材、與同學討論、撰寫摘要或讀書心得及提問的時間。
摘要寫作要點：
書面摘要必須於首頁列明報告文獻（APA格式）、日期、報告人，先有三百字摘要，述明整篇文章的問題意識和主要論點。然後是經過消化的、條理分明的內容概述。換言之，不宜逐段摘譯，最好是整理出文中討論的主要問題，以及作者對這些問題的回答或爭辯，建議以圖表方式整理出主要的論證架構，也可以搭配一些圖片，譬如說作者照片、書影或文中提到的人物和事件圖片。如果直接引述文中語句或段落，必須以不同字體清楚標示，並加註頁碼。最後，必須針對文獻內容提出問題，或是可供延伸討論的經驗議題。
作業要求與評分：
1. 居住履歷：描繪自己從小到大住過的房屋。說明這些房屋的類型樣式、外部與內部狀況、空間配置、家具安排、同住者關係，以及居家生活模式等。說明你的成長歷程、身分塑造與這些房屋的關係，並討論搬遷的原因和影響。最後，針對這段居住和遷移歷程的影響，提出反思性的評論。搭配地圖、圖片和照片。本作業佔學期成績的15%。
2.期末報告：選擇實際的案例，探討棲居或住宅的功能、形式與意義之社會及自然關聯和影響。可以聚焦於牽涉特定群體、事件或地區的居住政治、棲居的生活型態、居住文化與情感、住宅的政治經濟學，特別關注其中蘊藏的衝突、協商和轉化。這份報告分為三個階段繳交：第一階段提出研究計畫書，針對研究主題提出初步觀察、提問，以及初步文獻回顧和方法說明（3頁內）；第二階段是已完成田野或案例考察，有初步分析的初稿，至少一萬字；第三階段是完稿，也就是經過教師批閱和建議後，提出具有完整分析的修正稿，兩萬字左右（含摘要和書目）。論文寫作須符合學術規範，包含中英文標題、中文摘要與關鍵詞，以及符合學術規範之書目格式（參考《台灣社會學刊》或《建築與城鄉研究學報》格式）。各階段分別佔學期成績的5%、20%、15%，合計40%。
3.平時表現（含出席狀況、參與討論、口頭報告和書面摘要表現等），佔45 %。
4.各項報告須準時繳交，遲交一天扣2分，以扣除30分為上限；期末報告完稿不得遲交。繳交時間明定於各週進度表。 |

描繪自己從小到大住過的房屋。說明這些房屋的類型樣式、外部與內部狀況、空間配置、家具安排、同住者關係，以及居家生活模式等。說明你的成長歷程、身分塑造與這些房屋的關係，並討論搬遷的原因和影響。最後，針對這段居住和遷移歷程的影響，提出反思性的評論。搭配地圖、圖片和照片。本作業佔學期成績的15%。 |

選擇實際的案例，探討棲居或住宅的功能、形式與意義之社會及自然關聯和影響。可以聚焦於牽涉特定群體、事件或地區的居住政治、棲居的生活型態、居住文化與情感、住宅的政治經濟學，特別關注其中蘊藏的衝突、協商和轉化。這份報告分為三個階段繳交：第一階段提出研究計畫書，針對研究主題提出初步觀察、提問，以及初步文獻回顧和方法說明（3頁內）；第二階段是已完成田野或案例考察，有初步分析的初稿，至少一萬字；第三階段是完稿，也就是經過教師批閱和建議後，提出具有完整分析的修正稿，兩萬字左右（含摘要和書目）。論文寫作須符合學術規範，包含中英文標題、中文摘要與關鍵詞，以及符合學術規範之書目格式（參考《台灣社會學刊》或《建築與城鄉研究學報》格式）。各階段分別佔學期成績的5%、20%、15%，合計40%。 |
